Your year-end escape starts with the way you want to feel

A slow morning beside the sea, a mountain view from a warm room, or a city evening that ends with a midnight toast. There is no single perfect way to spend the final days of the year. Start with the moments you want to share, then give them a setting that makes the whole trip feel right.
For a beach escape, compare the actual journey from home, the accommodation’s setting and the time you will have to enjoy it. A longer flight can make sense when there are enough days to settle in. For a European mountain stay, decide whether skiing is essential or whether scenery, food and a comfortable base are the main pleasure. Check current resort opening plans and snow conditions for your dates rather than treating a winter photograph as a promise.
Choose a celebration that suits you
If celebration is the centrepiece, build the trip around a confirmed evening. Madrid’s newly announced Four Seasons festive programme and Atlantis Dubai’s gala welcoming 2027 offer two different starting points to explore. Compare the event and hotel separately: seating, dining, transfers, minimum stays and cancellation terms can change the total plan. Leave room for a leisurely day after the countdown. A thoughtful year-end holiday should be enjoyable before midnight and long after it.
