Rimrock Banff brings a fresh perspective to a mountain escape

Banff has a new chapter for travellers who want mountain scenery and time to unwind in the same stay. In an October announcement, Accor presents the transformed Rimrock Banff as Emblems Collection’s first North American address. The hotel’s own website dates its debut to summer 2026, so this is a closer look at an established summer opening, not an opening happening today.

Design that follows the landscape

The renovation retains the hotel’s original structure, with terraced architecture reaching towards the Bow Valley. Natural materials and broad windows connect the interiors to their surroundings. Accor describes 320 guestrooms, including 57 suites, alongside a Bathhouse with indoor and outdoor thermal spaces, a mountain-facing infinity pool, sauna and cold plunges. It offers an appealing balance for a trip built around both exploring and slowing down.

Build your stay around the season

The hotel’s Expeditions programme spans guided hikes, stargazing and winter activities. Its room selection also distinguishes forest views from mountain views, a useful detail when choosing the setting for your stay. Before booking, confirm the room outlook, Bathhouse access, any additional charges and which guided activities operate on your dates. Snow conditions and seasonal experiences should be checked separately. Leave room in the itinerary to enjoy the hotel as well as the landscape.
