There is something appealing about making the journey part of the holiday: settle in with a book in the evening and step into another city the following morning. Nox Mobility is taking bookings for a new Hamburg–Munich night train, due to begin on 23 March 2027. The service was announced on 23 September 2026, making this a useful option to consider for next spring, rather than a train already running.

Your own space for the night

The launch product is the Nox Suite, an individual area with a large seat, a table, luggage space and power outlets. The seat extends into a two-metre lounge position alongside the window. That detail matters: these are seat-based spaces, while the company’s fully private Nox Rooms for one or two people are planned for 2029. Choose according to how you prefer to rest, and check the layout before booking.

Two cities, with time between them

The announced service will run three times weekly in each direction, calling at Bremen and Augsburg as well as the main stations in Hamburg and Munich. The published southbound timetable leaves Hamburg at 21:22 and reaches Munich at 08:14 the next morning. Northbound, the planned times are 21:20 from Munich and 08:27 into Hamburg. All are local times and should be reconfirmed for the travel date.

Leave the morning open

For a two-city break, an overnight connection can preserve more daytime for exploring. Keep the arrival morning flexible and check hotel check-in or luggage storage separately. Before paying, confirm operating days, the complete fare, cancellation terms and any onward connections. The pleasure is in planning a trip with room to enjoy both the journey and the destination.
