Four Seasons has announced plans for a resort in Tangier’s Cap Malabata district, adding another reason to follow the evolution of Morocco’s northern coast. The 8 October announcement describes a waterfront development overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar, with views towards Spain across the water.

Architecture shaped around the coastline

The project pairs architecture by Arjitec with interiors by Goddard Littlefair. Four Seasons describes 99 guest rooms and suites, including 27 standalone villas, alongside more than 260 metres of waterfront. Planned facilities include four dining venues, a spa, fitness facilities and a children’s programme.

A different chapter for Morocco

The planned resort would join the brand’s existing Moroccan properties in Casablanca, Marrakech and Rabat. Its distinctive proposition is the northern coastal setting, offering a different focus from an inland city stay. The release does not supply a firm opening date, so this is development news for future travel plans.

Keep a place on the travel wish list

For readers drawn to hotels with a strong architectural identity, this is a project worth following as confirmed opening and booking information emerges. Our editorial suggestion is to think about the balance between time by the water and time exploring the destination. For travel already on the calendar, choose accommodation with confirmed operation and dates rather than treating an announced development as an available room.
