Emirates brings a more familiar airport journey to Bogotá

A journey can begin with confidence long before take-off. Emirates announced on 16 October that it had hosted a travel rehearsal at Bogotá’s El Dorado International Airport, supporting autistic travellers as they become familiar with the airport experience.
Practising the journey
Participants followed check-in, baggage drop, security and boarding procedures, visited an Emirates aircraft and met cabin crew. A simulated arrival included baggage collection and customs. The focus was familiarity: discovering the sequence of a trip in a supportive setting before a future flight.
A useful conversation before booking
The initiative forms part of the airline’s accessibility work and El Dorado’s accessible-travel programme. It is encouraging news for families considering an airport journey together. The announcement describes an event already held, rather than an open booking offer or a timetable of future rehearsals. Travellers interested in similar support should ask the airline and airport what is available for their particular journey.
